Or take a break! I'm sure some of the crashes will be fixed over time with updates. Don't take it personally (like I do), just reload and continue. Despite Crash Fixes, Enderal will probably crash on you for no good reason at times (I've had maybe 4-5 crashes in ~15 hours of playtime so far). However, some quick searching on /r/Enderal seems to show I'm definitely not alone in this. ![]() I'm used to my heavily modded Skyrim being very stable and crash-free, so I felt kind of personally offended when I started getting random and non-repeatable CTDs with Enderal. So just be aware, if something similar happens to you, try reloading a ways back and entering the area again before you despair that everything is broken forever (which is my default reaction). The solution for me was nothing crazy or magic I just re-loaded from a few saves back, and made my way to Old Dothulgrad again. Reloading a save right outside the entrance gave the same result. I couldn't loot anything, I couldn't talk to anyone, and I couldn't advance to the next area. No idea what this was caused by, or if it's at all specific to when and where it happened for me: I entered Old Dothulgrad and no activation prompts would show up. NOTE: if you end up needing to use this, the fix command will send you flying, possibly through walls or floors if you're inside, and can do major damage when you land, so you may want to turn on god mode (tgm) beforehand to make sure you survive! This thread pointed me to the solution, which I never would have been able to figure out on my own. For a while I thought it would just stay on me for the next leg of the quest or something, but a few hours later I realized it must be a bug. The bug is that a green mist shader effect, which is only supposed to affect your character for a few seconds, gets stuck and stays on permanently. ![]() This happened to me right after a certain event in Old Rashengrad. So you will also need to install that from here: SKSE Plugin Preloader EDIT: /u/Daniel_USA pointed out that the SKSE plugin preloader is NOT part of the default Enderal install, that's my bad. Setting UseOSAllocators=1 in Data\SKSE\Plugins\CrashFixPlugin.ini cured my infinite loading screens after I installed DynDOLOD for Enderal. True, you have SKSE and its INI to deal with memory allocation, and that will be enough for most people, but the Crash Fixes approach is better. Crash Fixes (and the SKSE plugin preloader) is packaged into Enderal, however the UseOSAllocators flag is turned off by default. I've run into a few issues with Enderal that I haven't seen discussed much or at all, so I thought I'd share my experience so far.
